RACHAEL KESHA

Manager Entertainer Lead Vocalist

Rachael is an accomplished musician learning classical piano at a young age. The youngest of 6 children from a musical family, she was influenced by her older siblings and mother, who were proficient in multiple instruments. At age 17 she began singing in a band with her older brother and bassist David Kesha. He taught her technical knowledge in sound engineering, including PA and Lighting equipment setup. She has since performed and managed bands throughout New Zealand, refining a strong soulful R'n'B vocal style, performing in a 9-piece soul/blues band while based in Sydney, followed by performances in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Singapore.

 

PERFORMANCES: Rachael has an impressive track record of entertaining audiences at various events and ceremonies, including the Wellington Business Gold Awards, NZ Business Awards, NZ Sports Awards, and NZ Accountants Awards. She has also showcased her talent at medical conferences for NZ and Australia. With her down-to-earth approach, she can connect with audiences of all sizes and make them feel like a part of the show.

​Rachael is a highly skilled professional who manages Caramel Groove band bookings, website, marketing, and promotions with ease. Rachael is the go-to person for all your event needs, with her expertise in sound engineering and operating backing music, she ensures that all live performances run smoothly and on schedule. Rachael also manages band set lists, PA, lighting, and technical requirements. She has got you covered. You can trust Rachael to make your event a resounding success!​

JULES KESHA

Entertainer Lead Vocalist

Jules has a powerful and rich soulful style, described as a vocal polished for radio. Her musical background started from learning classical piano and singing in Church as a child. She has recorded jingles for Radio and TV and played the part of Ronette - actor and lead vocalist in the live stage Musical, Little Shop of Horrors.

Jules was the lead vocalist in the popular Dunedin band Jules & The Jam-man and original band The Goods with Malcolm Black (Netherworld Dancing Toys, New Zealand). Her experience includes singing live on stage with well-known R'n'B & Soul artist 'Ruby Turner' during her 90's NZ tour, singing with the Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra, performing at annual Oyster Festival events; and sharing a stage with Jackie Clarke. She won the Radio Dunedin Music Awards overall and all 3 sections entered in R'n'B, Jazz and Contemporary.

PERFORMANCES: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Samoa, Singapore and throughout New Zealand. Jules has a lovely, humble approach towards her audiences, but don't be fooled by this softly-spoken sophisticated lady, when she starts to sing, the effects of those high notes raise the hairs on the back of your neck!

Jules performs corporate functions and specialised events for Caramel Groove throughout New Zealand and Australia.

IVY TOPIA

Entertainer Lead Vocalist

Originally from the Bay of Islands of New Zealand, Ivy spent most of her musical career based in Wellington. Trained in performing arts, she gained vast technique and experience in the music industry, from performing lead vocals for many well-known corporate bands in the scene including; Soul Cake, La Femme, Soul Sisters and Lady Soul. She has performed backing vocals for well-known Maori artists David Grace and Ruia Abraham, plus Lead and Backing Vocals with New Zealand artists Wini Baxter and TJ Tautoa.

Based in Brisbane since 2014, Ivy is currently lead vocalist for popular originals reggae band Ini Ryze, Ites and performs in covers band Family Affair.

 

Ivy has been a valued member of Caramel Groove since 2009 and has performed for numerous corporate events, clubs and bars for several years. Ivy is a polished, vibrant, soulful performer, who knows how to work a crowd with such high energy and a bubbly personality that shines in every performance.

Her music styles include Soul, R'n'B, Jazz, Reggae, Latin, Funk and Pop, however, Ivy can deliver on any genre required for each event.

WINI BAXTER

Entertainer Lead Vocalist

Having been raised in a Church family, Wini’s first influence was the Gospel. This helped her develop to become a singer who moved people’s souls and touched their spirits too.

With 20 years of professional singing in the music industry, this beautiful, stunning vocalist is the true meaning of humble and her career has taught her to be passionate and motivated.

 

Wini was part of the recording on Hollie Smith’s album in 2013. She has performed in The Pink Floyd Experience live show band nationally and internationally over the last 8 years which is ongoing. When she’s not appearing with The Pink Floyd Experience, Touche, Forte and Higher Ground, she also performs as a backing vocalist for artists such as Aaradhna, Rosita Vai and rising reggae diva Ria Hall, Sacha Vee and well-known NZ Pacific Artists Bella Kololo and TJ Tautoa.

 

Wini works as a lead vocalist in her own right with various Wellington bands, including private and corporate functions. Her vocal styles cover a range of music styles from Gospel, Funk, Soul, R’n’B, Reggae, Jazz, Latin and Pop. She is a hard-working musician, who takes nothing for granted and brings a wealth of experience and skill as a vocalist.

RONI PERKINS

Entertainer Lead Vocalist

A professional and well-seasoned singer, Roni hails from a musical family with a wealth of experience in the music scene, performing for many events over the past 15 years.

She has front-lined for many groups including; Blonde on Black (family band), Soul Cake (covers and originals - 11 years), La Femme, Soul Sistas, Lady Soul, Geoff Culverwell Band (Jazz) and performs as a duo act in JR (with her husband Jim Perkins).

​

PERFORMANCES: John O'Conner Experiment (Blues), David Grace & Injustice (Reggae), Andrew Tosh (International Reggae Artist - son of Peter Tosh, 2012 NZ tour) and Matiu Te Huki (Reggae).

 

Roni has a wealth of knowledge in both technical sound and vocal technique. She was Head of the Music Department at Mana College in Wellington for 10 years and is currently based in Rarotonga, teaching music full-time.

She performs songs of all genres and has a vocal clarity that is sweet and soulful, along with a smooth R'n'B sound. She has a humble stage presence and delivers with such great presence on every performance.
